The minibus took cadets to the competition at Fletching near the Bluebell railway. Thankfully the rain held off and we returned with a trophy. Cadet Jacob Owen came fourth in the intermediate boys and was chosen for the Wing team. Flight Sergeant Verity Martin was also selected based on previous performance as she was running elsewhere today.
Cadet Owen was one of seven whose efforts resulted in the Intermediate boys trophy for 226. Congratulations to Cpl Sandle, Cpl Ruston and cadets Walker, Humphrey, James and Trangmar.

On Sunday the 29 May 2011, nine cadets and two members of staff from our 226 (Brighton) squadron took part in the Spitfire Cadet March in and around Folkestone Kent.
They walked over a 27km route over the downs, visiting the Battle of Britain Memorial on the cliffs in the afternoon. There where trials and tribulations which saw two cadets drop out due to injury but the rest of the cadets, thanks to a lot of will power and determination, made it to the end - demonstrating what can be achieved when you set your mind on something.
Medals and certificates were awarded to those completing the march, and nearly all of the cadets are looking forward to completing more road marches over the next year.
There are some photos of the march on our facebook page.
On the 8th of May 2011 over 200 cadets from Sussex Wing competed at the annual inter-squadron athletics meeting. 226 (Brighton) Squadron took 17 cadets, all of whom did a great job!
