Certificates, Promotions & Awards
We’ve had a busy night this evening! Cadet Sergeant Louise Murray was awarded her BTEC in Aviation Studies, worth two GCSEs and was promoted to Flight Sergeant following last weekends NCO Training.
Cadet Corporal Kyle Crickmore was also awarded his BTEC in Aviation Studies and promoted to Sergeant, and received his long-awaited Communicators Certificate.
Over three-dozen cadets received their “First Flight” certificates after taking the controls in a Grob Tutor for the first time, and 27 cadets were awarded their Radio Operators Certificates after completing a two-day UHF/VHF course.
Twenty cadets also received their Leading Cadet badges after passing their exams, with Cadet Hemming receiving a distinction. Of the twenty who passed, over half received credits. Well Done!
A BTEC in Aviation Studies was also awarded to Jack Cook, and ex-cadet of the squadron who has recently joined the RAF and is undergoing basic training at RAF Halton.
As well as these awards and presentations, new uniform was issued to all cadets, four NCOs began training on the new L98A2 rifles and the cadets received a briefing on the Duke of Edinburgh award, preparing them for their forthcoming expeditions.
